Arts-In-Education Programming

Monroe Area Council for the Arts considers educational outreach programming to be one of the most vital parts of its mission. These programs have included artist residencies such as Fiber Arts in the Classroom, the Monroe County Young Authors Conference, Missoula Children’s Theatre Workshop, Arts Camps, Appalachian Roots Music Residency, and numerous other workshops led by professional artists. Each year, MACA’s educational outreach programming serves thousands of Monroe County children.
Well over half of Monroe County children come from low-income families who are unable to afford enrichment activities. However, through the support of Friends of the Arts contributors, MACA continues to offer arts programming at little or no cost to the children of our community.
Thanks to our educational programming sponsors: Volunteer Federal, East Tennessee Foundation, John D. Grubb & Louise G. Sumner Fund for Monroe County, White, Carson & Alliman, Cornerstone Engineering, Cherokee Study Club, United Way of Monroe County, City of Madisonville, and City of Sweetwater.
